I started the month of April off with a New York flight and ending with one. A girl couldn’t ask for anything better! It was also the first time I would have been to America may I add. The flight to New York is 14 hours, it is such a killer but worth every minute, we was given around 2.5 hours laydown rest during the flight to get some shut eye.
The first layover was 42hours! We landed about 11pm NY time and after a 14hour flight all I wanted to do was sleep, myself and 2 other crew arranged to meet for breakfast and then head out exploring.
The following morning we headed over to ‘Ellen’s Stardust Diner’ -Amazing place! If you ever get the chance please go. The waiters are singers, yes they serve you while singing classic Broadway hits with a few new songs in there too. Never mind the food is to die for!!
Once we had filled ourselves to the limit we headed out and the tourist in us kicked in. I went to Time Square, Brooklyn Bridge, 9/11 memorial and since we had time we sent to see a broadway show! Yes – little small town girl has on broadway watching ‘Chicago’.
After the snow that was us done, jetlag had kicked in so we headed back to the hotel to catch up on some sleep before the flight back to Dubai.
End of the month come around pretty fast and I was back on the airplane to New York, this time the layover was only 24 hours. Just enough time to do some shopping, why would anyone say no to shopping in Time Square on payday! The best purchase of the day were my new sunglasses, just in time for Dubai Summer. I got the Clubmaster Raybans.
