February Favourites

Travel

This month has sent me to some beautiful countries from Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland to Cape Town in South Africa but, my favourite had to be Taipei in Taiwan. Let me take you back to the start of this flight. I arrived at work with one of my closest friends at 02:30am ready to check in but this time it was different, instead of operating the flight we were flying as passengers to bring back an extra flight from Taipei for Chinese New Year. To make the experience even better we were given seats in business class on the A380! You know the plane with the bar and lounge… that one. I live on plane food but it always tastes different when you get to relax with a blanket wrapped around you watching a movie, and my movie of choice was ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – If you haven’t watched it yet, what are you waiting for? IT’S AMAZING! After sleeping the flight away once we arrived at our hotel in Taipei we decide to head straight out to see the night markets since its one of the main tourist attractions of an evening. We walked for hours upon hours, in and out of shops, trying new foods and the arcade games. It was like being my young self again back home trying to win a tiny teddy bear after spending the day by the beach with my family. I’ll be the first to say we stood out. 2 ginger girls walking around, we were stopped a few times to get asked for pictures so, in advance, I’m sorry Taipei if you see my face floating about. The following day I was so run down and had come down with a cold so I spend the whole day steaming out my airways and getting ready to fly back to Dubai.

Wear

I’m going to start this post off by saying I have the best people around me! My beautiful friend from back home came to visit me in Dubai towards the end of January to celebrate my belated birthday. She knows how much I love watching the Victoria Secret Shows, all the behind the scenes footage and having a good stalk at their Instagrams but the one thing every girl wants is the icon robe they wear before going on stage. You can imagine my face when I pulled it out of the gift bag along with all the amazing other goodies she spoilt me with!

Listen

Shallow – Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I had been putting off watching ‘A Star Is Born’ because everyone had told me how upsetting and tear-jerking the movie way and bring is not something that comes easily to me. I had been hearing the song on the radio a lot and I had to know what the story was behind it so, I set one of my days off in Dubai for a movie day. I got my drink, snacks, blanket and box of tissues ready and hit play. I cried the whole movie, I’m a hopeless romantic at heart, what can I say.

Not Feeling

February marks the month in Dubai were the weather doesn’t know what it’s doing! One minute the sun is shining and you can be getting ready to head to the pool but then 20 minutes later its gale forced winds and cloudy. I won’t say bring on the summer because that is just another level of hot but bring on the stable summer days!
